Call For Speakers

It’s official! WordCamp Greece is coming to your screens! We are happy to announce that WordCamp Greece Online will take place on April 16th, 17th and 18th of 2021. The Greek WordPress Community invites you to share your experiences, ideas, and innovations in a large online meeting. If you are interested in giving a talk or organizing a workshop at the upcoming WordCamp Greece, please register now.

Fill out the form below to submit your talk proposal to WordCamp Greece 2021. If you wish, you can submit more than one proposal. Make sure you have previously read the code of conduct for participants in a WordCamp. The organizing team will contact you as soon as possible. The deadline for submitting a talk request is March 9th. All applicants, regardless of choice, will be notified of the progress of their application by March 15th, 2021 at the latest. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for people with love and passion for their work, with experience and knowledge on their subject, with directness to the public and contagion. People who can tell a nice story. 

Indicatively, we are looking for presentations related to:

  • WordPress basics for beginners (and professionals) 
  • Web development Web Design (HTML, CSS, JS, front-end)
  • Design (UI / UX, typography) 
  • Advanced WordPress Development Topics (Coding Themes & Plugins)
  • Blogging, content management, journalism 
  • Marketing, SEO, branding, strategy 
  • Accessibility (a11y)
  • Diversity
  • Gutenberg Editor
  • Freelancing / Business Topics 
  • Case Studies 
  • BuddyPress / bbPress 
  • Something new that we do not yet know 

How exactly will the Talks be online?

Since this time the WordCamp Greece will be online, we understand that perhaps everything looks different from previous years. It looks & it doesn’t look different! Let’s look at it with a little more detail.

First of all, the online talks will have the following time option and types:

  • Talk of 30 minutes (including Q&A)
  • Talk of 15 minutes (including Q&A)
  • Workshops of 2 hours

Technical requirements for the online talk

Since your talk/workshop will be online and there will be no control over the technical requirements from our side at the time of the broadcast, please have in mind the following technical requirements.

  • Strong internet (at least 2MBs upload)
  • Camera with good resolution (at least 720p for video)
  • Good lighting (behind the camera that transmits towards your face)
  • Microphone
  • Quiet area (isolated from outside noise)
  • Connection with ethernet cable (no WiFi) on a desktop/laptop
  • Be available for testing 5-10 days from the day of your talk/workshop

Additionally, to be prepared for the event that your internet connection is interrupted unexpectedly during your talk, you will need to send us your recorded talk/workshop to have it available.
